The Demon Dentist by David Walliams

My book summary is on “The Demon Dentist” by David Walliams.
Alfie is boy who has really rotten teeth which means he has to visit the dentist. Winnie is a social worker and discovers that his teeth are disgusting so makes an appointment for him at the dentist. He doesn’t like going to the dentist so he decides to hide the appointment letters because he hopes that his Dad will not know that he has an appointment
Miss Root is the dentist. She goes to Alfie’s school and he is chosen to stand up in the assembly about looking after your teeth. Miss Root gives him a toothbrush and toothpaste. Alfie discovers that the toothpaste can melt through solid rock. This makes him suspicious about her so when Gabz tells him that she has seen Miss Root flying and taking children’s teeth from their pillow they follow her. They follow her into the mines and discover her tooth lair.
Alfie’s Dad and Winnie follow them into the mines and they see the children and Miss Root has captured them. Whilst Miss Root is polishing the teeth she stole, Dad and Winnie rescue them. Miss Root comes back and sees the children have gone. The mine starts collapsing and Miss Root gets flattened but she can still move because she is a tooth witch. As the children come out Miss Root follows them, pulls Alfie’s Dad back in the mines and unfortunately he does not survive. Luckily Alfie gets adopted by Winnie and lives happily ever after.

Such a great story to choose Iris. You have summarised the main points really well and have gone in to just enough detail. Very well done!
    Miss P 😀
