A summary of my favourite book
Hetty feather by Jacqueline Wilson
Hetty feather is a good book to read because it is packed with drama and has lots of description. The book itself is about a foundling girl who longs for her mother. Hetty is taken to a foundling hospital (a place children are taken if their parents can’t look after them properly) as a baby and soon gets sent to a foster family. She thinks she will stay with her foster family forever but come her fifth birthday she finds herself heading back to the hospital. But the mean matrons remember her as a baby and treat her unfairly all because of her red hair. Luckily Ida, the cook’s maid, keeps an eye out for her and does good deeds for Hetty whilst she lives a miserable life at the Foundling Hospital. Hetty makes friends and her life is less miserable. With her friends she tries hard to fool those matrons but the matrons know all of Hetty’s tricks and poor Hetty gets into more trouble than ever. I recommend this book for 6 years and over.
