Today we took a rather brisk walk down to Romsey Abbey to join two other school celebrating the life of St Ethelflaeda and to find out more about the Anglo Saxons.

We discovered all sorts of amazing things including finding two of only four real Saxon crosses in the country!

In addition, we tried to work out the size of the Abbey by using pigeon steps and tricky calculations as well as a tour led by Rev Tim Sledge.  Some of us also got to dress up as Anglo Saxons.

It was a really lovely morning and great to be invited to take part in the celebration.

Thanks too to our amazing parents and Mrs Wyeth who walked to the Abbey with us!
