There were three cute ducklings. Their soft, yellow and brown, fuzzy feathers made them look adorable. They were siblings and were called Ellie, Izzie and Jack. One day they walked across the wooden, bumpy bridge. Every duck called it the rickety-rackety bridge. They had never been in the cold, fast flowing water before. Then Ellie bent over and accidentally fell in!!
“How did that happen?” quacked Jack.
“Ellie, are you alright?” quacked Izzie.
“Yes, I love this water. Come in here!”
So, then Izzie and Jack jumped in and they all splashed about together for the rest of the day.

Lucy this is such a lovely little story – I especially love your opening descriptive lines. Great use of carefully chosen adjectives. In fact, you have used a really good range of vocabulary such as ‘rickety-rackety’.
….and just the right amount of dialogue too.
    Very well done!
