It was pitch black but there was a glow in the old, abandoned temple. Inside was a dragon and an upset boy. His name was Tom and he had set off to find the treasure the dragon was guarding. The dragon was a majestic creature and had been told to guard the grand treasure. Tom was sure that everybody would want to be his friend if he had the treasure. Climbing into the glowing lava pool, Tom made sure that the dragon did not wake. Knowing that the lava was at its lowest, Tom climbed in. Then the dragon woke…….

    Wow I love this Max – especially as you have very cleverly started one of your sentences with a fronted adverbial – can you guess which one? You have also used some excellent descriptive techniques too as well as ellipsis to show that there could be more to come!
